If you’re looking for an unforgettable camping trip that combines natural beauty, outdoor adventure, and proximity to a vibrant downtown, Paris Mountain State Park in Greenville, South Carolina, is the place for you! We hope you enjoy our Travel Guide: Camping at Paris Mountain State Park, SC.

We recently camped here with our RV at Site #10, and we can confidently say it’s one of the best sites in the park — spacious, close to the bathhouse, with a great mix of sun and shade, making it the perfect basecamp for a weekend of exploring.

Camping at Paris Mountain State Park, SC:
Paris Mountain State Park offers:
- 39 paved campsites with water and electrical hookups
- 13 tent-specific sites
- 5 trailside campsites for backpackers
- Clean restrooms with hot showers
We stayed at Site #10 in our RV, and we highly recommend it. It’s one of the most desirable spots in the campground, with an easy RV setup, good privacy, and a cozy wooded atmosphere.

Most importantly for us: Paris Mountain is dog friendly! We brought our dogs along, and they were welcome not only at the campground but also out on the trails, which made the trip even more special.

Hiking Adventures with the Dogs:
During our stay, we tackled several of the park’s trails — and our dogs came along for all of them!
We hiked:
✅ Lake Placid Trail — a short, easy 0.75-mile loop around the lake, great for a warm-up.
✅ Turtle Trail — a fun, moderate trail that connects to other loops for longer hikes.
✅ Mountain Creek Trail — a shady 1.2-mile trail alongside a babbling creek, peaceful and dog-friendly.
✅ Sulphur Springs Trail — the most challenging of the bunch at 3.5 miles, with steep sections and rewarding views, although we only hiked approx. half of this trail.
The park’s trail network is beautifully maintained and well-marked, offering options for hikers (and dogs!) of all skill levels.

Other Park Attractions:
Besides hiking, Paris Mountain offers:
- Swimming, kayaking, and fishing at the park’s lakes (especially Lake Placid).
- Picnic shelters and playgrounds for families.
- Historic Park Center with exhibits about the Civilian Conservation Corps and the park’s history.
- Mountain biking on designated trails (with bike rentals available nearby).

Best Time to Visit:
We camped at Paris Mountain over Memorial Day weekend; however, spring and fall are prime times to camp at Paris Mountain, with mild temperatures and colorful foliage. Summer can get humid, but the shade and lake access help keep things comfortable.
