(This post was last updated on: 10/18/2024.) We are in a new month and with that we are going to focus our goals on a different area of life- Preparedness. Below you will see and can download a free copy of March’s Monthly Focus Worksheet. Throughout this month we will set goals and create simple projects to make our home and family better prepared for emergencies.
You might think that I mean just preparing for natural disasters like the recent tornado that hit North Carolina or protecting yourself from the Coronavirus, but really emergencies can strike in a lot of different ways. For instance, if you lost power in a storm, is your home stocked with shelf stable food? What if you or your spouse unexpectedly lost their job, are you financially prepared to pay your bills? Or what if you or one of your family members were in an accident and became physically incapacitated for awhile, could your household still run and maintain it’s current standard of living?
We will explore these topics throughout the month and maybe a few others too. The goal for this month is to prepare for the unexpected because lets face it, shit happens. And the better prepared you are, the less devastating the emergency will be for you and your family.
Some time ago, I wrote a post about emergency preparedness. You can check that out to get a jump on brainstorming ideas on how to better prepare yourself, your family, your home, your car and your office.
In the meantime, download this free printable that outlines our areas of focus this month. And leave a comment below with how you have already or plan to prepare for future emergencies.
