(This post was last updated on: 10/19/2024). Ocean Isle Beach is located in between Holden Beach and Sunset Beach in North Carolina. It is just a bit north of Myrtle Beach, SC. We love taking vacations at Ocean Isle because it is small, quiet and family oriented. We put this travel guide- Ocean Isle, NC Beach Vacation together to show you what an awesome beach it is to visit.
Ocean Isle, NC Beach Vacation Travel Guide:
We typically book a beach front house through VRBO. This gives us a bit more privacy but we’re still within walking distance to the pier and “downtown area”. At the fishing pier, you will find a cute grill serving up yummy lunch, ice cream shop, arcade, putt putt and my favorite, Sunset Slush an Italian Ice stand.
What to Do + See in Ocean Isle, NC:
When we go to the beach, we look forward to sitting on the beach and reading a good book. But if you need more to do there are a few fun things around town. Brick Landing Golf Course couldn’t be more beautiful. The course is designed around the intracoastal waterway and marshes. The Museum of Coastal Carolina is a great place to take the kids with its touch tank and reef gallery. The Ingram Planetarium will also dazzle the kids and is a good choice on a rainy beach day. When you are walking around, stop in at the community center to see if they have any fun activities going on like a scavenger hunt or an outdoor movie night or concert.
Where to Eat in Ocean Isle, NC:
There are a few restaurants to check out around town: Victoria’s Crab Shack, Sharky’s, Roberto’s, The Isle’s Restaurant and Tiki Bar, Dawg House, Beaches Burgers, Causeway Gourmet and Sugar Shack. The town offers a diverse selection of spots to eat considering its size.
We hope you give Ocean Isle a try the next time you are planning a trip to the beach. I think you will see why we love it so much.
