Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
Micro Description: This is a beautiful coming of age story set in the quaint North Carolina coastal town of Barkley Cove. Growing up in the marsh, Kya Clark has been abandoned by everyone she loves. She perseveres through it all to grow into an object of desire for two local men. She navigates life, love and a murder mystery when a local man is found dead.
Micro Review: I love a book with a strong women empowerment message. Just when you think you have it all figured out, you realize you don’t. The Marsh Girl outwits all of those that doubted her. Instead of being the underdog, she rises above to prove them all wrong, and she does it in the most exciting and intelligent way.
